What makes living in Walnut Creek so special and desirable? One reason is the top-ranked Walnut Creek School District. In their latest American Dream TV segment, Team Antonia Quanstrom speaks with the district superintendent, an elementary school principal, a teacher and a parent who inform us of the exceptional educational opportunities within the district.
WCSD features 5 elementary schools, a middle school and an "opt-in" TK-8th grade school, which began in 2015. Children at this opt-in school, known as Tice Creek, are on one campus, although TK-5 students are taught in self-contained classrooms, and 6-8 students take core and elective campuses. The district serves 3600 students. The high school these lower grades feed to is served by another local school district.
A great big thank you to local heros Marie Morgan, WCSD superintendent, Kelly Eagan, Buena Vista Elementary Principal, Kelly Ann Bockser, Buena Vista Elementary 5th grade teacher and Eryn King, parent of 2 Walnut Heights Elementary students and volunteer with the Walnut Creek Education Foundation.
