Parkmead

Welcome to Parkmead

Established in the 1940s, this charming community of 620 homes flanks Newell Avenue, just a short jaunt from downtown Walnut Creek. Some homes perch along hilltops, offering beautiful views, while others are tucked along tree-lined streets in the more level areas. Although some of the neighborhood is considered Walnut Creek proper, another part of the neighborhood is considered unincorporated, and therefore under county jurisdiction.

Many residents are drawn to this area for the top-rated schools, centrally located in the neighborhood, including Parkmead Elementary, and the K-8 opt-in school,Tice Creek, both part of the Walnut Creek School District. High schoolers can walk to nearby Las Lomas, which is part of the Acalanes School District.

There’s always something going on in Parkmead. Join in annual events, including a neighborhood-wide garage sale, a summer pool party, a chili cook-off and a holiday sing-along.
